CLUB XMAS PARTY
Sat 5th & Sun 6th Dec 09
The generosity of Anthony Robards allowed us all to enjoy our Club Xmas Party at his families’ farm located near Glen Alice in the Capertee Valley.
Some of us turned up on Friday night, pitching tents amongst the goats, lavender and swimming pool. The rest of us arrived on Sat morn, and with the weather being nice and hot, the swimming pool copped a workout.
Later in the afternoon a few of us went for a drive up the back of the property amongst the trees and rocks. Apart from a few large dents in the panel work of borrowed cars, missing MTZ tyre lugs and vehicles becoming stuck in the soft dirt on little rocks, it was a fun drive.
Back at the house saw Rose, Di, Sarah, Carmen and all the other wonderful helpers busily preparing the mouth watering Xmas dinner that had been cooking all afternoon out the back on the huge gas cooker.
Santa, aka President Charles, handed out the gifts to the little (and big) kids and the Kris Kringle routine once again provided a laugh as I now cherish the wonderful new Spaghetti Tin for this year!
An awesome dinner of meats and salads was eagerly devoured by us all and Anthony took the kids and some adults out to one of his dams to fish for Yabbies. Returning with a big bucket full, Max & Adrian spent the next couple of hours in the kitchen, prepping, cooking and eating the newly caught creatures.
A late start on Sunday saw us all packing up and getting ready to head home. Anthony gave some of the kids a ride on the tractor, much to their delight, and Ashley & Callum attempted to herd a lost goat back with the others that had somehow found the paddock gate open.
Final goodbyes and a grateful thanks to Anthony saw us all head home from a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
Thanks to Ant for the use of the Farm and facilities and big thanks to Rose and all her helpers for organising and preparing yet another wonderful AT4 Club Xmas Party Dinner!
Brett.
